About the New South Wales Indigenous Chamber of Commerce
The vision of the New South Wales Indigenous Chamber of Commerce (NSWICC) is for a Country where Indigenous Businesses are competitive stakeholders in the supply chains of Government and Corporate Australia.
The NSWICC is the Peak Representative Body for Indigenous businesses across New South Wales, providing a Professional and Culturally safe forum to members where they can access a wealth of knowledge and opportunities to support their business goals and aspirations. The Chamber network removes the isolation of operating alone by allowing members to connect with other Indigenous business owners across New South Wales to share their stories and experiences and opportunities. NSWICC members value the promotion of business amongst them, networking opportunities, skills development and training. The NSWICC educates members on available government and non government programs and initiatives that support their growth and contract readiness and, acts as a regulator and advocate to encourage the acountability, transparency, relevance, access and effectiveness of these programs and initiatives. The NSWICC aims to work with Government and the Private Sector to achieve a process of continual improvement in the delivery of services to Indigenous Business Owners.
Trade amongst the NSWICC network is encouraged and a core function of the network.
NSWICC's service provision provides a structured path to self-determination for the Indigenous community. NSWICC's business mentoring, support and educational services enables members to:
- Capitalise on the new and expanding procurement opportunities for Indigenous businesses;
- Assist in the achievement of financial independence; and
- Access to tools for effective negotiation with other businesses and corporate organisations.
NSWICC membership provides a unique opportunity for Indigenous businesses to contribute to closing the gap between Indigenous Australians and non Indigenous Australians.
Corporate demand for Indigenous suppliers is growing, particularly as a result of Government initiatives such as Supply Nation and IOP. A key benefit for corporate membership is the ability to utilise NSWICC's networks, particularly to fulfil the Indigenous supplier engagement requirements of Government contracts.
NSWICC goals are aligned to corporate members, where positive experiences with Indigenous businesses will assist in a successful Indigenous Business Sector. NSWICC is a unique opportunity that enables corporate organisations to access numerous Indigenous procurement suppliers, many of which receive ongoing support to deliver upon agreed products and services.
NSWICC also provides education to non-Indigenous businesses on engaging with Indigenous supplier procurement services. NSWICC facilitates training sessions for companies to promote cultural awareness in their organisation and to introduce Indigenous procurement opportunities.
Corporate organisations engage with NSWICC through associate membership, sponsorship packages and strategic alliances or partnerships, which are tailored for your specific needs, funds and requirements.
