NSWICC was proud to recently welcome and host a delegation from the Solomon Islands to our Djiyagiyulang-gal Enterprise Hub on Gadigal Country in Redfern.
The visit provided an opportunity for NSWICC Chair Narelle Anderson, General Manager Rick Hughes and Business Development Manager Josiah Younes to share NSWICC's 20-year journey, our experience supporting Indigenous businesses, and the role strong partnerships and Indigenous procurement can play in creating sustainable economic opportunities.
We also shared practical insights and experiences to support the delegation's work around the development of the Solomon Islands Indigenous Procurement Policy. It was fantastic to hear that the discussions at NSWICC helped inform the delegation's final workshop and consideration of how our learnings could be applied in the Solomon Islands.
Importantly, the visit created opportunities for an ongoing relationship between NSWICC and the Solomon Islands Chamber of Commerce, with our interest in future collaboration as the procurement policy progresses.
We look forward to continuing the relationship, sharing knowledge and exploring how Indigenous-led business models and procurement approaches can help strengthen economic participation across the regions.
