Culturally Safe Spaces to Work, Connect and Grow
NSWICC’s Business Hubs and Incubators are more than just physical spaces - they are purpose-built environments that foster Indigenous entrepreneurship, innovation and collaboration. Our hubs provide culturally safe, flexible and affordable access to professional workspaces, meeting rooms and event facilities - backed by the services and networks of the state’s Peak Body for Indigenous Business.
We understand that space is more than infrastructure - it’s about place, story and community. That’s why our Djiyagiyulang-gal Enterprise Hub is located in a historical and meaningful location, designed to honour culture while empowering economic participation.
Metro
Located in the heart of inner-Sydney, the Djiyagiyulang-gal Enterprise Hub is a landmark site of Aboriginal resilience, cultural activism and economic self-determination.
This iconic building was once home to the National Black Theatre, a powerful symbol of the Aboriginal rights movement in the 1970s and a creative force for change and self-representation. In 2025, the site was divested to the NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce, returning the building to community leadership with a renewed purpose: to support Aboriginal businesses and enterprises for generations to come.
'Djiyagiyulang-gal' (pronounced jiya-gee-yoo-lang-gal) means ‘Sisters in Trade’ in the Gadigal language. This name was chosen by Elders to honour the long-standing role of Aboriginal women in commerce, kinship and cultural leadership.
The hub continues that legacy by creating opportunities for innovation, exchange, and self-determined growth.
At the Redfern Hub, you can:
- Rent private office space or secure a hot desk
- Hire rooms for meetings, workshops or corporate events
- Access business support, mentorship and networking opportunities
- Participate in NSWICC programs, forums and entrepreneur accelerators
This hub is not just a place to work - it is a space to belong, to build and to thrive.
