The NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce (NSWICC) was proud to attend Sydney Build 2026, joining industry leaders, partners and businesses from across the construction and infrastructure sectors at one of Australia’s largest built environment events.
The event provided a valuable opportunity for the NSWICC team to connect with key stakeholders, strengthen relationships and explore new opportunities for collaboration. As the construction industry continues to evolve, forums like Sydney Build play an important role in bringing together organisations committed to innovation, growth and inclusive practices.
A key highlight of the event was the strong presence of conversations centred on diversity, inclusion and reconciliation. The conference agenda featured dedicated sessions focused on Indigenous collaboration in construction, as well as discussions on ‘designing with Country’ and the integration of Indigenous knowledge and perspectives into the built environment.
These conversations reflect a growing recognition across the sector of the importance of meaningful engagement with Indigenous businesses and communities. NSWICC welcomes this continued focus and remains committed to advocating for increased participation, stronger partnerships and sustainable opportunities for Indigenous businesses within the industry.
Events like Sydney Build provide a powerful platform to showcase the capability of Indigenous businesses, share knowledge and drive greater awareness of the value Indigenous enterprises bring to the construction and infrastructure landscape.
NSWICC looks forward to continuing these conversations and working alongside industry partners to support a more inclusive, connected and thriving Indigenous business sector.
